Ronald L. Williams

Ronald L. Williams, 70, of Williams, IN passed away on June 12, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis on March 26, 1951 to the late Delbert and Martha Williams. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Williams; son, Jim (Tracy) Williams; daughter, Amanda "Amy" (Eric) Browning; a granddaughter, Kayla Williams; sisters, Kathy Lucas (deceased) and Pat (Steven) Manning

 

Ron worked for Williams Brothers TV Appliances from a young age. He received a bachelor’s degree in business and worked in an executive position with both Whirlpool Corporation and Fedders Corporation where he had the opportunity to travel all over the country. He was a founding partner in ARE Surveying Consultants, Inc. where he worked as the Marketing expert until retirement.

 

He was a gregarious man who loved people, especially children, and had a wide range of interests. Ron was a member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653 and was a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star #414. He was also a member of the Sahara Grotto and played in the Drum and Bugle Corps marching and playing in parades all over the Midwest and South. He played percussion in a renaissance music group which recorded a CD. His other hobbies included golfing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and participating in activities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.    

 

He was very involved in his children’s lives and all their activities. He volunteered endless hours coaching, pulling band trailers, judging forensics competitions, and ferrying their friends to all kinds of activities and events.

 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 16, at 12:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children (2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607).
