William Robert Imel Jr.

William Robert Imel Jr., 87, of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024.  He was born on July 29, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late William Robert Imel Sr. and Annabelle Imel.  Bill was a United States Army veteran.  He worked for EDS & GM for 30 years.  Bill was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church, American Legion and Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and traveling with his family.  Bill loved spending time with his family most of all.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Imel; children, Melanie Wilkinson, Randy Hack and Pamela Bryant; brother, Robert Imel; sister, Sandra Brown.  Funeral services will be on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow with Military Honors at Washington Park East.  Survivors include his daughters, Victoria (Alan) Dicks and Julie (Gary) Goss; son in law, Rick Bryant; brother, Dennis Imel; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.
