Walker Fullen, 97, of Avon passed away April 4, 2018. He was born in a small town in Virginia. He joined the US Army Artillery in 1937. During WWII he was enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and remained after the war when the Air Corps became the US Air Force. He retired from the service after 43 years as a Master Sergeant in 1980. He also worked as a machinist for Wabco in Indianapolis for 30 plus years retiring in 1982. Walker is survived by a son, Dan (Carolyn) Fullen; three daughters, Debbie (Ken) Smith, Darlene (David) Floerke, and Delisa (Daril) Garriott; and three grandchildren, Michael Smith, Douglas Walker Fullen, and Kayla Fullen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae "Ginny" Fullen. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
