W Michael Latz

Wm. Michael Latz, 80, of Plainfield, passed away October 18, 2024.  He was born October 14, 1944 to the late John William and Mary Katherine (Broaderick) Latz in Logansport, IN.   He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-68.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Indiana University in 1972.  His career includes a staff accountant at Michael C. Latz & Associates, Indianapolis from 1968-72; Partner with Nyikow & Latz, Certified Public Accountants from 1972-81; member with Ashby, Brown, Latz, Maudlin & Co., Indianapolis from 1981-83; and Anderson from 1981-83; and also President and CEO & tax partner with Latz & Maudlin, Inc.  Since 1983 he was with the Certified Public Accountants in Indianapolis, Elwood and Fairmont and Director of KML Enterprises in Plainfield and Treasurer of Mr. Liquor Inc., Indianapolis.  Besides being a Certified Public Accountant, he was also was a licensed pilot and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Aircraft & Pilots Association of Indiana, and the Certified Public Accountant Society. He is also listed in the Marquis Who's Who.  He was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church.  Michael married Diane Marie Wolfangle on May 16, 1970, who still survives.  He is also survived by a son, Kenneth Michael (Tara) Latz, and 4 grandchildlren, Kenneth Parker Latz, Cooper Michael Latz, Sawyer Latz and Oliver Latz.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1212 E. Main St., Plainfield, and where friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time at the church.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hendricks County Humane Society or the donor's favorite charity.  The Latz family would like to thank Cumberland Trace and Plainfield Healthcare and their Hospice Unit for their loving and caring help at our time of need.   Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
