Virginia M. Eaton

On the morning of May 12, 2022, Virginia Marr Eaton of Plainfield, joined her heavenly father. Virginia was born to James and Mattie Ree in 1933 in Thompkinsville, KY. She attended Thompkinsville High School where she met her husband, Roy Eaton. She worked at Western Bell before becoming a full time homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Virginia was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, serving on the bereavement committee and ordering flowers for the sanctuary altar. She enjoyed cooking, canning and cross-stitching. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren spoiling and caring for them. Virginia especially liked baking chocolate pie and dump cake anytime they asked. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie, father, Jimmy, brother Phillip, and son-in-law Doug.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the First Baptist Church Of Plainfield (1012 Stafford Rd. Plainfield, IN 46168) where friends may visit from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Roy Eaton; daughters, Sherry Eaton, Sandra Waltz and Susan (Gary Penner) Cummings; son, Michael (Theresa) Eaton; brother, Mitchell Sheffield; sisters, Blanche Rush and Mary Lou Baker; grandchildren, Jimmy, Michael, Ashley, Douglas, Austin, Zachary and Gabriel and six great grandchildren.
