Thomas Lester "Tom" Clymer

Mr. Thomas “Tom” Lester Clymer age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Friday, July 27, 2018.The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Wilkinson Funeral Home,100 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28025. A Mass of Christian burial was held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 3 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue SW, Concord, NC 28025 with Father Jerome Chavarria, C.Ss.R. officiating. Inurnment followed at St. James Catholic Cemetery.Tom was born December 11, 1955 in Decatur, IL. He graduated from Indiana Central (University of Indianapolis) in 1978 Magna Cum Laude. Tom spent his career in financial wealth management with First Union/Wachovia/Wells Fargo lastly retiring from SunTrust in December 2017. He was a previous member of the Board of Directors for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Gibbs Museum, University Medical Associates, the Charleston Visitors Bureau, Charleston Stage Theatre and the Charleston Chamber of Commerce. Tom was a former President of the Rotary of Charleston, a former member of the Finance Committee for the St. John the Baptist Church and a former member of the Harbour Club.Tom was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed working out daily at the YMCA, learning more about his family history through a Genealogy class and spending time with his family and friends.Those left to cherish Tom’s memory are his mother, Madge, of Plainfield, IN; his loving wife, Alma Torres Clymer; son, Tommy Clymer and wife, Katherine of Concord; granddaughter, Delia Clymer of Concord; brothers, Mickey Clymer (Jennie), Wayne Clymer (MaryAnn); sister, Kathy Petrone (Tom). He leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father, Kenneth Clymer and sister, Vickie Roe.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 128 S.
