Thomas A. Fisher

Thomas Allen Fisher (65) of Plainfield, Indiana passed away October 5, 2021. Born on July 28, 1956 in Wuerzburg, Germany to the late Raymond M. Fisher and Pauline (Tomlinson) Fisher of Cartersburg, Indiana. He was raised in Plainfield, Indiana where he graduated from Plainfield High School in 1974. He attended DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois, graduating with a degree in electronics. He came back to Plainfield to work at Williams Brothers Appliances before he became a city mail carrier for the town of Plainfield in 1978. He worked for 33 years as a mail carrier in Plainfield, delivering mail to most of the city routes at some point during his career. He loved being a Boy Scout when he was growing up and became a Boy Scout leader later with his own sons. After retiring on July 30,2011 from the Post Office he became an avid woodworker, making many projects for his friends and family. He loved helping people and was involved in church ministries at Reunion Church a satellite church of Plainfield Christian Church. He also volunteered at Active Grace, Family Promise and helped with the Just Be Kind Club. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth A. Fisher and sons Bradley A. Fisher and Thomas E. Fisher, and a brother Raymond P. Fisher and sister-in-law Ramona Fisher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Visitation for friends and family will be from 1:00 until the time of the service at the Hampton Gentry Funeral home.
