Theodore Popowchak

Theodore "Ted" Popowchak, 82, of Avon, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024 at The Gathering Together in Plainfield, IN. He was born August 13, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to the late Frank and Ann Popowchak. Ted graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis before attending Washington University in St. Louis where he obtained his engineering degree. He worked at Sverdrup Corporation for 25 years as an environmental engineer before finishing his career at CH2M Hill. During this time, he lived in San Diego, CA, Scottsdale, AZ and Colorado Springs, CO. With these moves, he discovered his love for travel and spent the last 15 years traveling around the US and Europe with many trips to his favorite place, Alaska. In his free time, he enjoyed reading and working on model trains. Ted was loyal, kind and loved his wife and daughters more than anything in this world. Ted is preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Popowchak; a brother, John Popowchak. He is survived by his two daughters, Stacy (Brendan) Kluszynski and Amy Popowchak; grandchildren, Isabel, Caitlyn Kluszynski, Ashley and Brock Bisaillon; sister, Carol (Jack) Sims. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Gathering Together, 147 N. Center St., Plainfield, IN 46168. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
