Thelma L. Shanklin

Thelma L. Shanklin, 89, of Avon, passed away on June 3, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1934 in Kentucky to the late Scott Hall and Addie Huffman. Thelma worked for GM as a seamstress for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, coloring and playing golf. Thelma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Shanklin. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery (6701 Milton St. West Newton, IN 46183). Survivors include her sons, Rick (Yvonne) Woods, Keith (Susie) Woods and Ron (Phyllis) Shanklin; daughters, Theresa (Vince) Smither, Dawna (Alan) Clearwater, and Denise (Ray) Hernandez; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Ryan, Amy, Jessica, Chris, Niko, Trey, Olivia, Abby, Heather and David; 7 great grandchildren.
