Terrance "Terry" Standiford

Terrance "Terry" William Standiford, age 74, of Hendricks County, IN passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Roberta Standiford and his daughter, Kathleen Marie Standiford. Terry is survived by his wife, Wilma Joyce Standiford of Hendricks County IN; his son, Michael (Annie) Standiford of Plainfield, IN; daughter, Sarah (Shane) Riebsomer of Indianapolis, IN; stepsons, Jeff (Sara) Chandler of Speedway, IN and Tom (Tammy) Anderson of Plant City, FL; stepdaughters Tina (Dale) Ritz of Franklin, IN and Jennie (Tony) Keen of Brownsburg, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Terry is also survived by his four sisters, Susan (Clyde) Cravens of San Antonio, TX, Nancy Szypulski of Havelock, NC, Laura (Glenn) Craig of Lancaster, SC, and Claudia Standiford of Houston, TX. Terry was born in Angola, IN on January 10, 1948. He and his family subsequently moved to Brownsburg, IN where he lived until Terry entered the U.S. Army in 1968, being stationed at Fort Bragg, NC as a Sergeant in the Green Berets. Upon leaving the Army, Terry joined the Plainfield Police Department in 1974. He remained with that police department for 21 years until he retired as a Sergeant in 1995. Terry loved working on cars, motorcycles and watching or going to the National Drag Races. Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 11:00 am up until the time of service at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Military graveside services will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 21st and Raceway Road, Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001) or The Gideons International Processing Center (PO Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251).
