Susan Jane Lincks

Susan Jane Durham-Lincks, 69,  of Plainfield, Indiana, was born to Russell and Ida Durham on February 24, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Susan fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She once stated that this would not define her, but it did in that she led this fight with grace and dignity and would serve as an example to her family in how to trust in the Lord when faced with a giant. Susan was a graduate of Decatur Central High School and excelled at her continuing education at Indiana Central University where she obtained her Real Estate Brokers License and later continued her education in banking. Susan’s career over the years involved the areas of real estate, banking, insurance and home building.

Susan had many interests from working in the church, being involved with her grandchildren, travel, reading, painting and baking. Susan was a prolific artist and baker of incredible cakes and she shared these talents with those she loved. She was an active member of her churches over the years serving in ways from teaching Sunday School class for children to involvement with a Grandparent’s Program and managing the serving of communion at Plainfield Christian Church.   Susan’s greatest achievement of this world was her faith in Jesus Christ as she loved God with all her heart. Those who knew her best knew her passion for the Word of God and how it applied to daily life.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved niece Lisa Berkey. Susan leaves behind her faithful and loving husband of 50 years, Kenneth Lincks, her son Mark (Amy) Lincks, and daughter, Hope (Scott) Clugston and four grandchildren Randall, Madison, Riley and Sophia. She also leaves behind two brothers, Jack (Mary) Durham and Gary (MaryLou) Durham. Services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road.  Viewing will  also be on Monday from 10am-12pm with service at 12:00 pm at the church.  Burial will follow immediately  at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, Indiana. In lieu of flowers  donations may be made to The Gathering Together, 147 N. Center St., Plainfield, 46168. Arrangements provided by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
