Shirley A. Carter

Shirley Carter, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 18, 2019.  She was born on November 24, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Samuel and Mary Ping.  Shirley was a loving mother and dedicated homemaker.  She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.  Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Carter.  Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2019 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.  Graveside services will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her sons, Steve and Roger (Donna) Carter; daughters, Kathy Carter and Carole (Tony) Maddox; brother, Sam Ping; 1 grandchild; 2 great grandchildren.
