Sarah E. Lawson

Sarah E. Lawson, 87, of Plainfield, passed away on April 14, 2023 surrounded by loving family members.  She was born on August 9, 1935 in Richland, Tazewell County, VA to the late William and Nellie "Octavia" Jackson.  Sarah worked for many years at Diamond Chain before retiring.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing and flower gardening in her free time.  Sarah loved spending time with her family as often as possible.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Paul Lawson; brother, John Jackson; sister, Alta Lois Porter and an infant brother and sister; great grandchild, Chloe Hughes.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Center Valley Cemetery.  Survivors include her son, Michael (Denise) Lawson; daughters, Melda Sexton and Kim Lawson; sister, Narcie; grandchildren, Joshua (Missy) Lawson, Bethany (Anjuan) Hughes, April Lawson, Emily (Art) Taylor, Courtney Alexander, Carrie (Jake) Sas and Jimmy Lawson; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Candice Jackson.
