Ruby I. Cooney

Ruby (Fisher) Cooney, 94, of Avon, formerly of Plainfield, passed away May 16, 2017.  She was born in Effingham, IL on November 19, 1922 to the late William F. and Carrie E. (Clark) Fisher.  Ruby worked for Allison Detroit as a communications clerk for 30 years.  She was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church.  Ruby belonged to the Speedway Order of Eastern Star #561. She was the past Matron and past Queen of the Daughters of The Nile Speedway Chapter.  Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert J. Cooney.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 19, at 11:30 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service.  Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
