Robert E. Hartung Sr., 87, of Plainfield, passed away January 12, 2024 in his home with his family by his side. He was born August 3, 1936 to the late Howard and Hazel (French) Hartung in Crawfordsville, IN. He retired from Cinergy (Duke) in 1996 after 33 years of being an electric shop mechanic. He had a special bond with each one and made everyone feel like they were the favorite. We will always remember Bob to never miss a Cubs or Colts game. He was so passionate about sports and family which led him to coaching his boys in little league football, basketball and baseball, and his grandson in soccer. He enjoyed plenty of golfing during his 7 years of being a snowbird in Florida with his wife, Diane. He was in many bowling leagues through the years and would brag of his bowling high score of 289 , which his youngest son is still trying to beat. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia Diane (Heartwell) Hartung; three sons, Robert E. Jr. (Patricia) , Howard K. (Theresia Hess), and Christopher D.
