Richard L. Lamer

Richard L. Lamer, 87, of Plainfield, passed away January 2, 2023.  He was born October 12, 1935 to the late Lewis and Lucille (Hadfield) Lamer in Chester, IL.  He was an US Army veteran, and a member of the Plainfield Christian Church.  He was a salesman for Sawhill Tubular Steel Products for 31 years retiring in 1997.  Richard was an avid fisherman and enjoyed teaching his grandkids how to fish.  He loved spending time with his family on trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach.  He also was a hunter and a golfer.  Richard was a spiritual man who enjoyed time with his church family.  He is survived by his wife, Donna K. (Dennis) Lamer; a son, Tom (Kathy) Richardson; three daughters, Gina (Brian) Goodman, Elizabeth Grimes and Angela Harvey; a sister, Jean Lamer; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lamer.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
