Richard A. Halbert

Richard A. Halbert, 69, of Avon, passed away on January 26th, 2022. Richard was born in Oceanside Long Island on November 2, 1952, to the late Cordell and Jo Ellen Halbert. After a brief residence in Levittown and Northport, the Halbert family moved to Plainfield, Indiana in 1958. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1971.  Richard worked as a truck driver for Holland for 25 years retiring in 2015.  He was a member of Plainfield Christian Church.  Richard was a great father, husband, role model, and leader.  Rick had a love for adventures, from fishing, flying airplanes, boating, and traveling. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR, football, college basketball, going to concerts (he loved both Bobs; Bob Knight and Bob Seger) and the outlaws of the wild west.  He is preceded in death by his brother Mike Halbert. Survivors include: wife, Elizabeth Rodocker-Halbert, sister Barbra Halbert, daughter Nicole Halbert, son Jacob Halbert, grandchildren Juanito, Anthony and Alex.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.   The family requests that masks be worn at the funeral and visitation.
