Paul S. Gunning

Paul S. Gunning, 87, of Plainfield, passed away on December 11, 2023.  He was born in New Haven, Kentucky on September 23, 1936 to the late James G. Gunning and Martha Hazel (Cheshire) Gunning.  Paul was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving our country during the Korean War.  He was the Director / Vice President for DA Lubricant for many years before retiring in 1991.  Paul was a member of Plainfield Christian Church for numerous years.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family.  Paul is preceded in death by his son, Freddie Gunning and a brother, Bill Gunning.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial with military honors will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Gunning; daughters, Antoinette (Robert) Mullen; Gradythe (Jeff) Marturano; Stephanie (Wes) Beal; Melody (Shawn) Karr. Sons, Sam Gunning and Kevin Alexander; siblings, Martha Weldon; Tom Gunning; Dick Gunning; James Gunning; Jean Lois Hammond and Pat Warren. 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
