Patricia Pappas, 85, of Plainfield, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Jacob DeGroot and Hattie (Harkema) DeGroot. Patricia married Michael Pappas, and they were happily married until his death in February of 2025. She was a former member to Hope Presbyterian Church. Patricia enjoyed bowling, drawing, bicycling, reading, crocheting, working with ceramics, playing cards and board games. In her later years, she really enjoyed watching her westerns.  Above all though, she most enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Pappas; sister, Joan Klepper. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., where friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Pappas; daughter, Joni (Keith) Pappas-Butts; 6 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Kristin) Pappas, Nicole Pappas, Michael Pappas, Heather (Jordan) Laycock, Cassandra DeWitt and Craig (Lauren) Ray; 7 great grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, Araya, Cason, Hattie, Henry and Lorelai.
