Patricia E. "Patsy" Harris, 90, of Plainfield, passed away November 27, 2018. She was born April 27, 1928 to the late Arthur Birl and Bessie Marie (Elliott) Tipps in Indianapolis, IN. She was a graduate of Plainfield High School Class of 1946. She worked as a switch board operator for the Plainfield Youth Center for 16 years retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church and taught Sunday School for 22 years. She was well known as "Praying Patsy". She was a former member and past president of Tri Kappa Sorority. Patsy is survived by a son, J.D. (Dee) Harris; two daughters, Beth Ann (Charles) Morris, and Mary L. (Paris) James; two sisters, Beth Pilcher, and Judy Stout; a son-in-law, John Hall; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Harris; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Wes Harris; a daughter, Pamela J. Hall; two sons, Greg and Jeff Harris; a brother, Lefty Tipps; and two sisters, Ruth Hancook, and Midge Anderson. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, December 3 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gathering Together or the Greg Harris Memorial Fund New Trier High School.
