Mildred L. Roush, 95, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away February 13, 2022, peacefully at Worthington Place in Camby, Indiana. She was born August 22, 1926, in Austin, Indiana, to the late Perry Elee and Dona Marie (Nicholas) LaMaster. Mildred married Charles F. Roush in February 11, 1960. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage before his passing on December 20, 2011.
Mildred was a 1944 graduate of Scottsburg Indiana High School. After moving to Indianapolis, she worked as a secretary at Bridgeport Brass where she met her first husband. After his passing October 1958, Mildred moved to Richmond, Indiana where she and her sister owned and operated Shoe-a-rama, a local shoe store. When Mildred and her beloved Charles married, they moved to Plainfield, Indiana, where they worked together at his business, Roush Electric, in Indianapolis. In 1973 she returned to school at the Indiana Vocational Technical College in Indianapolis and graduated with high honors March 1974 with an associate degree in accounting technology. She then went to work for Paetz and Sons, Indianapolis, until her retirement.
Mildred was a devoted Christian. She loved to travel with her husband and they enjoyed many happy hours boating and fishing. She was also an accomplished seamstress. After moving to Worthington Place Assisted Living in Camby she made many new friends including special friend, Rhonda. We can’t thank the staff at Worthington and Kindred Hospice for the love and special care they provided her the last seven years as they became part of our family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mildred is survived by her children, Vicki Storey and husband Elton, Penny Nemeth, grandchildren Kary Rapp, and Christopher Nemeth, great-grandchildren, Serena Cimera and Danielle Rapp, and siblings Robert LaMaster and Betty Barrett. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by first husband, Stanley Bull, and siblings, William, Violet, Myrtle, Ruth, Margery, and Roland.
