Michael N. Pappas, 94, of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by loving family members on February 26, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Nick and Zoi Pappas. Michael was a sheet metal worker with the Local Union #20 from 1950 to 1992. He was a member of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653, Boy Scout #83, Sheet Metal Trade School, Optimist Club and a former Red Pride Club President. Michael enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, bowling, puzzles, word searches, bird watching and watching sports. He was a baseball coach for the optimist league for many years. Michael was an excellent handyman. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Jim, Efthemas and George Pappas; sisters, Aglaia Keck and Mary Hash. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Pappas; son, Jeff Pappas; daughter, Joni (Keith) Pappas-Butts; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Kristin) Pappas, Nicole Pappas, Heather (Jordan) Laycock, Michael Pappas, Cassandra DeWitt and Craig (Lauren) Ray; great grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, Araya, Cason, Hattie, Henry and Lorelai.
