Merl C. Rentschler

Merl C. Rentschler, 90, of Plainfield passed away peacfully surrounded by loving family members on September 16, 2023.  He was born on November 2, 1932 in Clay City, Indiana to the late Loy and Bessie Rentschler.  Merl worked as an insurance agent for Shelter Insurance for many years.  He was a member of the Gasburg Baptist Church, Deer Creek Men's Club and the Kiwanis Club.  Merl loved to golf and enjoyed taking care of his lawn. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Merl was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Rentschler, Cleve Rentschler and Charlie Rentschler; sister, Evelyn Wilson.  He is survived by his loving wife, Nettie Lou; daughters, Teresa (Rocky) Grismore and Jeannine Medvescek; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Gasburg Baptist Church (11564 N. Gasburg Road, Mooresville, IN 46158) where friends may visit from 11:00 am until time of service.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, IN.
