Mary I. Meyer, 86, of Carmel, passed away on February 8, 2018. She was born on April 3, 1931 in Oak Park, IL to the late Albert and Edna (Wildner) Wood. Mary was a Phi Betta Kappa at Grinnell College. She was a speech pathologist at IPS for 24 years. Mary was a member of the All Souls Unitarian Church. She belonged to the Delta Sigma Rho speech sorority. Mary enjoyed baking, playing the piano, playing bridge and shopping. She also loved to volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel. Mary would tutor disadvantaged children in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Meyer, who she was married to for 63 years; brothers, Albert and Limon Wood and a sister Evie Bouma. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen (Jack) Moore and Sherry (Jeff) Cole; son, James (Laura) Meyer; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
