Margaret L. Abbott

Margaret L. Abbott, 87, of Flint, MI, passed away June 2, 2017.  She was born January 27, 1930 to the late Howard and Lita (Fitzpatrick) Keyes in Flint, MI.  She was a sales clerk for Lane Bryant for 15 years retiring in 1984.  She was an avid gardener with a exceptional green thumb.  She also loved to read and visit her local library.  Margaret is survived by her daughter, Janet M. (Keith) Brown; a sister, Agnes Daniel; a sister-in-law, Rita Keyes; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Weinert, Melanie (Bill) Ball,  Robyn (Doug) Sims, and Kelly Sutton; 6 great grandchildren, Laura & Evan Weinert, Patrick and Liam Sims, and Levi and Kylie Sturm; two nephews, Mark and David Keyes; two nieces Kristin Pullman and Karen Thomas; and her beloved poodle, Lily.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Abbott;  a daughter, Laraine Beckley; and  two brothers, Jack and Billy Keyes.  Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, MI on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, where friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  www.hamptongentry.com
