Lyndon W. Smith

Lyndon W. Smith, 81, of Avon, passed away January 27, 2023.  He was born April 13, 1941 to the late Vernon and Hattie (Wayman) Smith in Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.  He was a Master Electrician for General Motors Corp for 47 years retiring in 2007.   His memberships include  the Avon Parkside Church of the Nazarene; a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Club; and he was a boy scout.  He was a 3 time president and active member of the Gatling Gun Club.  One of his interests was in science fiction and especially Star Trek.  Lyndon was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Smith, of 62 years who passed away recently on November 16, 2022.  He is survived by two daughters, Lisa McPheron and Amy (Steve) Blaschke; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) Mugg, Kelly (Daniel) Brickert, AnnaKay Blaschke, Mitchell Blaschke and Stephanie Blaschke; and 8 great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Lilia and Everett Mugg, Brooklyn Harville, Kaitlyn Spears, Saralyn Spears, Miley Spears and Rachael Brickert; and a great great granddaughter, Macie Poffenbarger.  He was preceded in death by at brother, Del Smith.  Funeral services will be on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Indianapolis.
