Loretta Groninger

Loretta Groninger, 87, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024. She was born in Louisville, KY on October 26, 1936 to the late Louis and Margaret Holzknecht. Loretta worked for Public Service Indiana in her earlier years. She then opened and operated Reflections Tea Room in 1993. Loretta was a longtime member of Tri Kappa, Bridge Club and Plainfield Elks Club. She was a wonderful host and cook. Loretta, who was affectionately known as “LaLa”, loved spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Groninger; son, Jimmy Groninger; sisters, Myrna Moon and Anna "Topper" Poe; brother, Bernie Holzknecht.

Visitation will be Monday, October 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:30 am in the Plainfield Christian Church (800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, IN 46168). Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Danny (Laura) Groninger; daughters, Lisa (Bobby) Payne and Amber (Jason) Mead; sisters, Margie Detty and Marilee Theiss; brothers, Thomas, Larry and Louie Holzknecht; grandchildren, Gavin (Megan), Gaston (Jenny), Baylor, Garrett (Shelby), Payton, Jayci, Gabi and Gracyn; 8 great grandchildren with 1 on the way!
