Lawrence E. "Skip" Thompson

Lawrence E. "Skip" Thompson, 79, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Indiana, passed away May 30, 2021.  He was born April 12, 1942 to the late Clifford and Anne (Killman) Thompson in Indianapolis, IN.  He was a 1960 graduate of Ben Davis High School.  Upon graduation he served 8 years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #162.  He was a truck driver, for various companies retiring from Penske Trucking after 10 years.  Skip is survived by his son, James E. (Sherry) Thompson; a daughter, Jennifer (David) Glick; a granddaughter, Skylynn Thompson; a step-grandson, Dominique Reid; three great grandchildren, Juelyus, Dre, and Xavyer; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Chuck and Gail Allen.   Funeral services and a Masonic Service will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time.  Burial with military honors will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
