Kevin C. Miller, age 68, of Plainfield, was raised in St. Louis, MO. He was born to the late Chester and Minnie Miller. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Missouri—Rolla, his master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from Purdue University, and recently successfully defended his PhD thesis in civil engineering from Mississippi State University. He was a chief civil engineer for Intertek PSI for 24 years. He was a member of Plainfield Baptist Church. Kevin was a man who loved God and served in various leading and teaching capacities at every church he attended. He was a dedicated family man. He was married for 45 years to his wife, Debby. They were blessed with three children and three grandchildren. Kevin was a man of integrity in his work as a civil engineer, specializing in foundations and dams. He was licensed as a professional engineer in over 30 states. He enjoyed teaching and passing on his professional knowledge to others. He was a member of the professional organizations ASCE and ASTM. In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his fondness for puns and the firm belief that sarcasm is the sixth love language. Kevin is survived by his wife, Debby A. Miller; two sons, Nathaniel P. (Arika) Miller and Jeremy C. (Amanda) Miller; a daughter, Karynn E. (Zachary) Lorenzini; two brothers, Steven (Vona) and Paul Miller; a sister, Carol McClain; and three grandchildren, Finnegan, Jasper and Harvey Lorenzini. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm at Plainfield Baptist Church, 1575 Reeves Road on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.
