Kenneth "Kenny" E. Ping

Kenneth "Kenny" E. Ping, 73, of Plainfield, passed away August 24, 2024.  He was born October 23, 1950 to the late Delmas and Georgia (Martin) Ping in Bridgeport, IN.  He worked in Civil Service most of his life, working as a mechanic, doing everything from rewiring a car, building car dashboards and electrical wiring.  He was a self-taught musician, playing the guitar, harmonica, drums and singing.  He loved to listen to music , watch old westerns and wrestling on TV and playing video games.  He was also a cook working in North Carolina, Florida and Indiana.  Kenny is survived by a companion, Maria Osuna; two sons, Brian and Jeff Ping both of TN; two sisters, Charlotte (Dennis) Cameran of South Carolina, and Bessie Paulina Fuller of Florida; his aunts, Geraldine Starrett and Lena Earl both of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Chuck" Ping. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
