Judy Ann Stanley

Julia (Judy) Ann Stanley passed from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on July 27, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family in her Plainfield home. Julia was very proud to be 96 years old. Julia was born in Muncie, Indiana on May 13, 1928, to Corenia Taflinger Bennett and Winton Redman Bennett. She had one sister, Geraldine Bennett Neeley and two brothers, Mahlon Bennett and Winton Bennett. All preceding her in death. 

Julia worked for the State of Indiana in many capacities including working in the office of Governor Edgar Whitcomb. After retiring from the state, Julia and her husband Bill traveled all over the country in their Airstream. For many years they wintered in the Tip of Texas. Other activities she enjoyed included riding her bike, walking, gardening, crocheting, and collecting milk glass and shot glasses from her travels. She was a member of the Red Hat Society where she enjoyed 20 years of great times and treasured friendships and was a member of Plainfield Christian Church. 

Julia was preceded in death by her husband William Amos Stanley. She leaves behind a daughter, Sharon (Courtney) Cooper and two grandsons, Chris (Dawn) Cooper and Cody (Rachel) Cooper. She also has three great grandchildren, Tristan, Bailey, and Harlan Cooper along with several nieces and nephews all of whom she greatly loved. Julia was a fun, loving, and positive lady who loved to laugh and cherished her time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed. 

Services are Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield where friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
