Judith Nordlinger

Judith Lee Nordlinger, age 87, of Avon Park, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March, 30, 2025, at Family Extended Care, in Sebring, FL.  Judith was born on February 27, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to Felix and Lydia Nordlinger, immigrants from Switzerland and Germany respectively.  She moved to Florida thirty years ago to become the director at the Community Christian Academy. She was a missionary teacher in Bolivia and the Virgin Islands before her teaching career in the United States. “I considered my job as a teacher, not as a job, but as a special calling from God. That’s why I taught in Christian schools.” – Judith Nordlinger.  Judith is survived by her sister; Jacquie Estes, two nephews; Curtis Garrison (Dawn), James Estes, Jr. (Kari), two great nephews; Tyler Schrag and Dylan Estes, two great nieces, Leah Garrison and Emma Schrag, one aunt, Edelgard Benson, and cousins. A lifelong friend; Lucille Johnson and her family Suzanne, Rob, Jonn and their families.  She was preceded in passing by her parents, one niece; Tracy Garrison, and one great niece; Sydney Schrag.  In lieu of flowers Judith requested memorial contributions be made to Nazarene Missionary International, 17001 Prairie Parkway, Leneta, KS 66220.  Judith will be buried near her parents in Maple Hill Cemetery, in Plainfield, Indiana.  Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Avon Park Church of Nazarene. Family welcomes friends beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:00 am in Maple Hill Cemetery.
