Joseph G. Wilson

Joseph G. Wilson, 82, of Plainfield, passed away on July 27, 2024.  He was born on February 23, 1942 in Plainfield to the late Luther and Lucy Wilson.  Joe graduated from Plainfield High School in 1961.  He was a United States Air Force veteran.  Joe worked for ITT Hoffman for 25 years and then worked for Diamond Chain in Indianapolis for 15 years before retiring.  He also had several security jobs over the years.  Joe was known to be a very hard worker.  He attended the Gaskin First Baptist Church in Westville, FL.  Joe was an animal lover especially cats.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dixie Wilson; brother, Edward Wilson and a grand daughter, Adryan Banner.  Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.   Survivors include his brothers, John (Beverly) of Glendale, AZ, Frank (Mary) of Indianapolis and James (Connie) Wilson of Plainfield, IN; children, Judith Ann Wilson Jacobs of Cleveland, TN -grandchildren, Rachel Valez, Huston Goforth, Joshua Goforth -Lorey Wilson Brooks (Jim) of Indianapolis, IN-grandchildren, Justin Matteson,Joshua Myers-William Joseph Wilson (Tami) of Myrtle Beach, SC -grandchildren, Nathan Joseph Samples, Brooklyn Paige McCoy-Joyce Marie Wilson Drake (Steve)of Indianapolis, IN-grandchildren, Jack William Drake -step daughter, Elizabeth Davis (James) of DeFuniak Springs, FL-step grandchildren, Joyce Davis Vann (Thomas) and Joe was also blessed with multiple great grandchildren.
