Joseph Clarence Baldwin Jr.

June 24, 1941 — July 23, 2019

Joseph Clarence Baldwin, 78, of Plainfield, passed away July 23, 2019.  He was born June 24, 1941 to the late Joseph C. Sr, and Ruth Emily (Haworth) Baldwin in Indianapolis.  He was a graduate of Plainfield High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Purdue University.  He owned and operated Baldwin Industrial Sales and later worked  in direct sales for EMJ, where he was awarded Top Salesman of the year toward the end of his  20 year career.  He retired in 2001.  He also served as an assessor for Guilford Township for 8 years.  He was a member of Plainfield Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and Deacon and where he taught the high school Sunday school class.    Among his interests were going on golf outings, woodworking, fishing, traveling, and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  When it came to sports, he loved the Colts, Pacers, the Cincinnati Reds and the Boilermakers.  Joe is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Andrea J. (Klingensmith) Baldwin.  He is also survived by three daughters, Cheryl L.B. (Robert) Wooldridge, Sandra L. (Mark) Mountcastle, and Donna J. (David) Trisler; two sisters, Carolyn (David) Seymoure, and Kathy Benge; a sister-in-law, Sandra (Charles) Foggatt; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Donnie Baldwin.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July  27, 2019 at the Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am on Saturday until service time at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis.   Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
