James Edward Hardin, 80, of Mooresville/Plainfield, passed away January 8, 2023. He was born January 15, 1942 to the late E. Richard and Betty (Culver) Hardin in Indianapolis, IN. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School (1960) and Indiana Business College. After working at Link-Belt/FMC for 18 ½ years, he was a Corrections Officer at the Plainfield Correctional Facility for 20 years. Jim bowled locally for 46 years and attended the American Bowling Congress National tournaments for 35 years. He enjoyed varied and interesting hobbies over the years. Jim is survived by his wife Debbie (Dugger) Hardin; his children, Clint (Jeanne) Hardin and Farrah (Scott) Rice; step-daughters, Kimberly (Adam) Green, and Angela (Tom) Cunningham; a brother, Richard M. (Alice) Hardin; a sister, Linda (Horace) Buckner; grandchildren, Kailyn Rice (Leeam) Fitzgerald and Noah Rice, Ella and Christina Hardin, Cora and Dylan Green, Thomas, Arionna, Nicolette, Grayson and Ivy Cunniningham. He was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Hardin. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 pm.
