James Glen Broyles

James Glen Broyles, 75, of Plainfield, passed away March 5, 2018.  He was born August 5, 1942 in Indianapolis.  He graduated from Avon High School in 1960.   He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Blanton of Plainfield, in 1964. They have 2 children: Andy (Jeanine) and Loretta; 7 grandchildren: Jamey, Samantha, Jenna, Eric, Danielle, Breana, and Cierra and 7 great-grandchildren. He was the oldest child of the late Glen M.  and Esther M. (Barlow) Broyles and has 4 siblings: John, Jerry (Sandy), Joe (Lynn) Broyles,  and Joyce Scott.   Jim worked at the Plainfield Post Office as a rural letter carrier for almost 40 years retiring in 2001.  After retirement, he worked at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home for 17 years (where he will be greatly missed).   He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield his entire life. He was a member of the Indiana Rural Letter Carrier Association and a member of the Odd Fellows McCarty Lodge.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Plainfield, (1012 Stafford Road).  Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 13, at the church.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  www.hamptongentry.com
