Jack B. Parks, 81, of Danville, passed away May 18, 2024. He was born January 24, 1943 to the late Stewart and Elsie (Bush) Parks in Gate City, VA. He was a US Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a skilled tradesman for over 50 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 20 retiring in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Avon Post #145. Besides his cat Prince, Jack was proud of his children and loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchild. He also loved to fish, the Colts and talk about Caitlin Clark. Jack is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline D. (Kevin) Turner; son, Jack F. (Cami) Parks; two sisters, Patrician Murphy and Ellen Miller; 7 grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Parks; son, James Scottie Parks. Visitation will be on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 25 in the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Clayton Cemetery.
