Jack L. Lewellen, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away January 11, 2022. He was born January 28, 1933 to the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Ekey) Lewellen in Indianapolis, IN. He worked 32 years of distinguished service for the FAA Indianapolis from 8/31/1968 until 10/2/2000. The fact that he basically built INDY Center and did it (for the most part) "his way". He was known to many for his attitude to "doing it my way". He loved to fish, working too hard, movies, and "computers". He was also known for Frufru--the Renault with the eight-track player. Jack is survived by his daughter, Janett L. Lewellen; two brothers, Samuel and Daniel Lewellen. a granddaughter, Trisha Freeman; and another pride and joy his two dogs, Pepper and PJ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Lewellen, a son, Jack L. Lewellen Jr., a brother Gordon Lewellen Jr. and a sister Patricia Coffman. By his request there will be no memorial service.
