Gladys Sherman

Gladys L. Sherman, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 12, 2025.  She was born on January 21, 1935 in Oakland City, IN to the late Otto and Minnie Ragle.  Gladys was a cashier for 22 years at K-Mart before retiring.  She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the women's group and choir for many years.  Gladys would color pictures for hours at the nursing home and always made sure to hand them out to everyone she crossed paths.  She also made homemade candy for many years and people would line up around the block to order some.  Hence, the coloring candy lady!  Her smile lit up any room and she would always go out of her way to help someone.  She was an angelic presence and she will be greatly missed by all. Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Sherman; son, Terry Sherman; brother, Charles Ragle; sisters, Mary Ragle and Ellen Hauser; son in law, Michael Boyer.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery.  Survivors include her daughters, Shannon Boyer and Tamela (Anthony) Wren; grandchildren, Brian (Morgan) Boyer and Sarah (Adam) Stevens; great grandchildren, Chase and Claire Stevens.
