Gerald "Jerry" Depasse

Gerald Anthony “Jerry” Depasse, 78, of Plainfield, passed away on July 15, 2023.  He was born on March 9, 1945 in Berwyn, IL to the late John and Sarah (Bonte) Depasse.  Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Schulte High School in Terre Haute.  He then went on to graduate from Indiana University (Indianapolis) in 1993.  Jerry was employed with PSI/Cinergy Corp/Duke Energy for 36 years as a Human Resources Coordinator retiring in 2000.  He also worked as the Assistant Director of Recruiting at the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington for 9 years retiring in 2009.  Jerry loved to take vacations, attend car shows, read, listen to music, and was an avid bingo player.  He was a member of the St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield.  Jerry served on the Board of Education and was a Eucharistic Minister.  He was preceded in death by brothers, John F. and Clarence Depasse; sisters Emily Depasse, Cheri Hubbard and twin sister, Marie Chlopecki.  Jerry is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Marilyn Depasse; children, Rachael (Kevin) Hyndman, Rhonda (Tom) Galyean and Ryan (Nida) Depasse; niece, Tami (John) Niemeyer; grandchildren, Jourdan Owens, Nathan Hyndman, Haley Adams, Jacob Adams, Kiara Depasse and Brittany Salazar; several nieces and nephews; brother, Ron Depasse.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
