Evelyn Messmer

Evelyn Messmer, 94, of Plainfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 12, 2022 surrounded by loving family members.  She was born on May 22, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John and Marian Stouten.  Evelyn was a manager for Avon Products for 20 years before retiring.  She was a strong woman of faith and was a 50 member of the McDoel Baptist Church in Bloomington.  Evelyn enjoyed collecting stamps, playing cribbage, the piano and the marble game.  She loved spending time with her family as often as she could.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Duane Messmer; sons, Douglas and John Messmer; brother, Kenneth Stouten.  Funeral services will be Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Calvary Church (1290 S. Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168) where friends may visit from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be at the Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, IN on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm.  Survivors include a son, Ronald (Sue) Messmer; daughters, Linda (Mark) Selby and Marianne (David) Schell; brothers, Leon and Harold Stouten; sisters, Norma Bell and Kathy Wolfe; 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.
