Edgar A. Ziege

Edgar A. Ziege, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away November 10, 2021.  He was born November 21,1940 to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Neumann) Ziege in Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from Washington High School. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. After the service he attended Indiana University where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.  He worked for Eli Lilly Co. as a chemist for 30 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Lakeview Church in Indianapolis. Ed enjoyed gardening and traveling. His favorite place to visit was Colorado. He never got tired of taking in the view of the Rocky Mountains. Ed was always very active in his church and enjoyed spending time with close friends he had known for decades. Most importantly Ed loved times spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He loved his family and loved his Lord Jesus Christ.  Ed is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. (Dill) Ziege; two sons, David (Kathy) and James (Kimberly) Ziege; two daughters, Beth (Scott) Gronotte and Christina (Mike) Konrad; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gudrun Burton.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 19,2021 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday in the Lakeview Church, 45 Beachway Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46224, where family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeview Church.
