Donald "Don" Meador

Donald E. Meador, 94, of Indianapolis, formerly of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by loving family members on October 25, 2023.  He was born on June 1, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late Lonnie and Allie Mae Meador.  Don was a United States Army veteran and served in the Korean War.  He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Meador; sons, Tom (Ingrid), Paul and Jim Meador; step children, Susie (Terry) Hood, John (Peggy) and Mark (Hope) Wood; sister, Mary Adams; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.  Don was a member of the Southport Heights Christian Church.  He belonged to the Plainfield Old Timers Club.  Don retired from I.P.L. Co, Indianapolis after 33 years.  He will be remembered for Christmas on the Circle for 32 years.  Don was always willing to help people.  He enjoyed gardening, farming and loved spending time with his family.  Don was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 12:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
