Dewey H. Ervin Jr.

Dewey H. Ervin Jr., 75, of Avon, passed away September 27, 2018.  He was born July 21, 1943 to the late Dewey H. Sr., and Eleanor (Gambol) Ervin in Miami Beach, FL.  He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He worked 24 years for American Trans Air as Chief of Operations and later for North American Airlines for 3 years retiring in 2013.  He was a member of the Plainfield Baptist Church.  Dewey is survived by his wife, Charlotte W. (Wright) Ervin; a son, Dewey H. "Skip" (Anita) Ervin III; a daughter, Kimberly Anne (Jim) Albedyll; two sisters, Shirley Davis and Edna Teeple; 5 grandchildren, Stefany (Shane) Johnson, Becka (Austin) Rodriguez, Megan Ervin, Matthew Ervin, and Kristina (Aaron) Davis; and 4 great grandchildren, August Rodriguez, Avery Johnson, Olivia Johnson, and Kieran Unger.  Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Plainfield Baptist Church, 1575 Reeves Road, Plainfield and where friends may call at the church on Thursday from 5:00 pm until service time at 7:00 pm.  Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
