Constance E. Servis, 79, of Avon, passed away December 30, 2021. She was born April 20, 1942 to the late Frederick and Josephine (Vogel) Siegert in Annapolis, MD. Like most families in the early 70s, we had a dad who went to work and a mom who stayed at home. And like the stereotypical 70s family, mom always has dinner on the table by 5 o’clock when dad got home from work. Most would believe it was because that was what was expected. Nope! It was because she had a Girl Scout meeting to lead, a softball game to either play or referee, bowling night, band booster meeting…. She was far from a stay at home mom, she was a BUSY WOMAN!! She was our Girl Scout leader, often the one who lead the girls and other leaders out late at night on their first snipe hunt. She was our softball coach, the type of coach who DID NOT take it easy on us because we were girls. She attended every band competition often traveling for hours in a school bus with the other parents, always there to cheer us on! She was an exceptional bowler, and YES! She bowled the perfect 300 game!!! She was feared on the golf course, because she could and oftentimes ALWAYS out drove the men!! So much that she was often told she had to hit from the men’s tees! She was also feared on the softball field! She had such a powerful swing, she often caused bodily injuries with her line drives! She was very athletic and excelled in everything she did. And how much of that was passed on to her girls??? NOT ONE BIT!!! But what was passed on to us was our passion for family, and how to spoil grand babies!! Her grandkids and now great grandchildren were her world, and she was the best Nana a kid could want! Constance is survived by her husband, Alfred E. Servis; three daughters, Suzan Wix, Carol (Chris) Thompson, and Sandra (Michael) Martin; two brothers, Peter (Mary) Siegert and Michael (Betty) Siegert; a sister, Katherine Tucker; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Armentrout, Michelle Pope, Bradly Wix, Sarah Rogers, and Nicole Thompson; and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday from 2:00 pm until service time at 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
