Cheryl L. Martin, 64, of Danville, passed away December 26, 2021. She was born December 4, 1957 in Paris, IL. She was a portfolio manager for Merchants Bank of Indiana in Carmel for 19 years retiring in 2018. The name, “Cheryl” means “Beloved” in its French origin. Few have ever been able to fulfill their name’s sake like Cheryl did. She was fiercely loyal to her husband, family, friends, co-workers, customers and anyone else she befriended. She would lend her ear to listen… and only speak out of love. Rarely complaining about anything, she “worked heartily as unto the Lord” & strove to be her best at no matter what she did. She was also an amazing cook. Attention to detail was first nature. She was a peace-maker, forgiver, self-sacrificing & always wanted to “respond” & not “react” to conflict. Always wanting what was best for others… without losing her own identity. Cheryl was, and still is, a powerful example of “self-less-ness.” She loved spending time with her family so thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays. She had a heart of gold & when she had means, would help others in any way possible. At the age of 40, Cheryl was saved & became a loyal Christian follower of Jesus. She is a TRUE worshipper & embodied the unconditional Love of the Father Himself no matter where she went. We know with certainty that she is now dancing with Jesus. In that, we find our comfort & peace. Cheryl’s legacy of loving & living will reverberate through many generations. She most certainly IS… “Be-Loved.” Cheryl is survived by her husband, Sabin S. Martin; three daughters, Briana M. (Joshua) Lirot , Heather M. (Chris) Hamm, and Kelly Buck; her father, Bill Tresner; a brother, Kenneth Tresner; 5 grandchildren, Kobe Jenkins, Katie Smith, Jarrett Smith, Dakota Lirot and Mason Lirot; and 2 great grandchildren, Audrey and Cooper Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Byrd) Tresner and a brother, Darrell Tresner. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, January 3 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Multiple System Atrophy Coalition (MSA) online at www.multiplesysteratrophy.org/msa-memorial-donations or at the funeral home.
