Byron Ora Powers, 81, of Plainfield, passed away on December 26, 2020. He was born on March 21, 1939 in Indianapolis, to the late Clarence and Fern (Bentley) Powers. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1957. Byron was an United States Army veteran. He was a supervisor for Blue Cross Blue Shield from 1958 to 1972. Byron then went to work for IPL from 1972 until he retired as a supervisor in 2001. He was a member of the Indianapolis Masonic Lodge #669. Byron attended the Camby Community Church. He enjoyed oil painting and reading in his free time. Byron was the family historian and story teller. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nenita (delaConcepcion) Powers. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Survivors include his son, Shannon Powers; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Morris; sisters, Carol Russell, Mary (John) Helm and Ethel (Steve) Pfendler; grandchildren, Lydia Powers, A.J. Morris, Lauren Powers and Cameron Morris; cousin, James Powers & many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Camby Community Church (8604 Camby Road, Camby, IN 46113).
