Annie Ruth Felty

Annie Ruth Felty 83, of Plainfield, passed away November 4, 2022.  She was born February 18, 1939 to the late William and Flora (Bracey) Higgins in Pleasant View, TN.  While living her adult life in Indiana and really enjoying being called a Hoosier, she held a special place in her heart for Tennessee.  From the exciting sounds of the casinos to the beautiful music of Loretta , Dolly, Patsy and especially Elvis, she was always ready to pull the slot machines attend concerts and travel the United States.  Ruth really loved her children and their spouses, but she held extra affection for her numerous grandkids.  Never one to complain and always wanting to be helpful for those in need. Once a week for years, Ruth would leave a bag of needed items on her front porch for disabled veterans.   Annie Ruth is survived by two sons, Terry W. (Myrna) and Mark A. Felty; two daughters, Vickie L. (William) Batton and Pamela A. (Robert) Blackie; a brother, James "Moon" Higgins; a sister, Nelda (William) Hargrove; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger N. Felty; a daughter-in-law, Vicki (Schuldt) Felty; three brothers, David "Bud", Emory and William "Harry" Higgins; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth White and Jessie Carlene Mitchum.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2022 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 am until service time at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
