Walter F. Reeder Jr., 85, of Plainfield passed away December 1, 2010. He was born July 2, 1925 in Bowling Green, KY. to the late Walter Sr. and Frances (McCoy) Reeder. Walt was a WW II Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the City of Indianapolis Assessors Office after 10 years. Prior to that he retired from Union Carbide after 38 years as a data processing supervisor. His memberships include Plainfield Christian Church, Plainfield F&AM # 653, where he was a 50 year member. He was also WaPaHa District Chairman and long time Boy Scout leader. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Eloise Reeder. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 4, at 10:30 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call Friday, December 3, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with military honors. Survivors include his son, Walter F. Reeder III; daughters, Margaret Fentz, Elaine Minton and Terry Loy; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
