Nathalie "Maxine" (Taylor) Blunk, 88, of Belleville, passed away October 5, 2010. She was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1922 at home in Morgan County where she was the fourth child, and only daughter to the late Urban and Vernie Taylor. She graduated from Stilesville H.S. in 1940 and married Perry Fleming Blunk in 1942. During WWII she traveled with him when stationed in New York City and Norfolk, VA. After the war they lived in Belleville all their lives where she was a member of the Belleville United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years at American States Insurance. She was active in Scouting and 4H with her children. After Perry's retirement they spent many winters in Bradenton and made lasting friendships. Both Maxine and Perry were avid travelers and througout their lives they visited all 50 states, many countries in Europe, Australia and several islands in the South Pacific and Caribbean. Maxine was an accomplished seamstress, but also enjoyed knitting, and gardening. She continued to travel in her later years visiting her grandchildren throughout the US. She is survived by a son, Steve (Paulette) Blunk of Belleville; a daughter, Linda (Tom) Brennan of Deerfield, NH; a brother, Joseph Taylor of Bushnell, FL; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 5 to 8:00 pm Thursday October 7.
